Tour Our New Shop

We had a great week at the Fort Wayne Farm Show. Thank you to everyone who stopped in to say hi, and we appreciate everyone who says they read this newsletter, watch our YouTube videos, or listen to our podcast. That show was one of the best shows we have been at in a long time. There was a great crowd all 3 days, the weather was good, and they had good food for lunch! I heard there is a waiting list of attendees 160 long waiting to get an open booth in the show. Grandpa was busy this week in Illinois picking up an Apache sprayer and taking it to a customer in NE Ohio with our semi and detach trailer. We are just a few short weeks away from the Louisville Farm show. We hope to see everyone there.

Be sure to tune into our YouTube Channel. Have a great weekend, and feel free to call 419-953-8500.

Here's a video of how we have the big shop setup today. A lot of work to do, but it is a workable shop now.

Planter Fertilizer Pump Options for a Smoother Spring

redball

We can never make our fertilizer system so complicated and touchy that it interrupts our planting. Ground drive pumps, electric pumps, and redballs are ways to make a simpler system so you have zero downtime.

Electric Pumps: Though they are limited on capacity, these little guys can make things look easy. Common on in-furrow applications, electric pumps are accurate and can fluctuate rate with speed.

Ground Drive: About as reliable of a pump as you can get, the beauty here is it is already speed compensated without a rate controller because it drives off of your ground contact wheel which of course spins faster and slower as you change speed.

Hydraulic Pumps: Are usually a requirement in todays planting widths and speeds. Nothing wrong with these pumps, but they will need a rate controller to tell them when to start, stop, speed and slow down. I would have a backup plan to this pump in season. Running these empty for just a minute will ruin one.
