What a week it was, warm weather, wheat getting top dressed, and some wild weather throughout Ohio. I made my way to Houston to attend the Commodity Classic, a huge show centered around education and networking at a pay-to-attend event. It was great to meet up and chat with dozens of customers and vendors and to learn in some of the sessions. Raising record soybeans, biologicals, and marketing of grain were all hot topics this week, maximizing ROI. At the shop, we had a big week of delivering equipment as we sent a Salford and tractor to Indiana, an applicator to northern Ohio and a sprayer to Pennsylvania.

Honoring a No-Till Pioneer Howard Martin
Over the years we have had the privilege to meet many people who have refused to give up on a goal to perfect ideas. Howard Martin was always an interesting person to speak with about how he came about some of his ideas, especially the row cleaner and his early relationships with some large manufacturers. Howard passed away yesterday at the age of 79. His son Steve, who today owns and operates Martin Till out of Elkton, KY, has carried on the art of tinkering, and their products still clear the way for farmers across the country. We have been fortunate to meet and visit with the Martin family several times and our condolences go out to them in this difficult time.
