Will the warmer weather ever stick around? This weekend will be great, likely a lot of field work will get done, but cold weather may return early next week. We are ready for planters to roll. All planter installations are complete. This week we delivered a lot of equipment! If you drive through our lot, you will notice it is as bare as it has been, but there is still plenty there and a whole lot more coming in. Sidedress projects now linger on the horizon, and those are on the docket to see the shop next. Today we are going to continue the Halo VRT demos per customer request. Our ambulance service truck got a workout this week as we wrapped up 4 planters. It is so handy to be able to carry extra supplies, bolts, nuts, electrical fittings, ladder, torch.

Our Experience with the New Salford Halo VRT Tillage Tool
Anytime a new product comes out, we like to put it through the paces to be sure it will live up to the hype. This week, we got the opportunity to run the Salford Halo VRT tool and here are the results.
This tool really is 4 tools in one. By adjusting the blade angle (which can be done on the fly) you can go from hardly moving any dirt to stalling your tractor in a few seconds. I was impressed with how well this tool did in light tillage as well in more aggressive settings. The double rolling basket which has hydraulic down pressure on it has a lot to do with that. We ran this tool up to 13 MPH and ran depths from 2" down to 7". The 20' tool we had required somewhere around 360 HP to run it at its most aggressive setting.
