Get Your Applicator Ready For Sidedress Season

A beautiful week in most of our area, the amount of crops planted this week is amazing. Everyone was running this week to take advantage of the planting window we were given. We are showing rain on Sunday, and honestly by then we could use a shower. For us, we were everywhere this week traveling to do installs but mainly service calls. Everything from a leaking bung on an applicator, a broken valve on a tender trailer, to a broken axle on a field cultivator. Those things happen, and we were right there every time to tackle the job. This week we have been focusing on putting together a Salford 2241 VT tool in the shop. It will get delivered tomorrow to Marion, Indiana. Next week we have a couple of J&M applicators and a Salford tool to push out the door as well.

A lot of corn is now in the ground. The next step is sidedress, and it is not too far away. With these warm soil temps, this corn will shoot out of the ground next week. Are you ready? Check over blades, knives and the common stuff. But also ask the questions, were you happy with your fertilizer placement last year? Maybe the knife wouldn't go deep enough. Maybe a more versatile placement option such as the triple threat system is a good choice. Keep in mind, we can add parallel linkage coulters to your existing toolbar or add a better pump or red balls to monitor blockage. Now is the time to make these changes before it is too late. Put 300 gallons in your applicator this weekend, test the pump, and get it ready for the weeks to come.
