Another great week of harvest weather and packed full of demos. The tool of choice this week was a Salford 5200 Enforcer. Guys are looking into this tool because of its ability to bury residue and leave a smooth finish. It has been impressive this week in heavy residue. Cody had a full day of strip till demos going on near Ft. Wayne, IN.
We have announced a date for our fall field day: Wednesday, November 13th at 10:30 AM at 5678 Erastus-Durbin Road Celina, OH 45822. We will have a field day showcasing a wide variety of tillage tools, strip till, and some dry fertilizer spreaders.
We are demoing a fertilizer spreader today locally to a grower who wants to take control of his spreading consistency.

Changing Blades on Tillage Tools
All of the items in the pictures below are things you won't need when you change blades on your Salford tool. This week we got our eyes opened when we took on the task of replacing blades on a Krause Excellerator. Not only did we have to go purchase a 2 5/8" socket (which ended up breaking), but we had to soak the threads to get them to budge. Even in our shop with a crane and good techs, this is a chore. After a full day, we have the tool 1/2 done. Tools like this make us really appreciate how easy, trouble free, and cost effective changing blades on a Salford tool is. All it takes is a 3/4" wrench and socket and make 4 hours on a 31' tool. The icing on the cake is that to replace blades and bearings with labor cost on this tool we are hovering around $13,000 nearly 4x the price to change Salford blades.

We finished this Salford 1231 with hydraulic baskets int he shop this week.
This 8 row Dawn strip till bar got a caddy hooked to it this week and was delivered to its new home.
The customer brought us his caddy to convert this 3 point bar to a pull type bar.
This 5222, which is the 3rd one we have built in 2 weeks, is getting demoed today.Used Items This Week
This week we have a used John Deere 2720 Chisel. This 11 shank unit has hydraulic baskets with blades and points that are like new. Bury stalks and alleviate compaction with this heavy duty chisel. Unit is located at our shop on 29 in Celina, OH.
