The Fennig Equipment corn head seeder is a way to seed cover crops while harvesting your corn. There are no additional passes and the germination rate is phenomenal. It holds roughly 500 lbs. of cover crop seed. A hydraulic driven fan blows air down through a chamber through the Venturi cups after it is metered. There is a switch on the seeder that turns on and off at the same time you lower or raise your corn head. There is also a control box in the combine cab.
The host from the seeder is run inbetween the gathering chain rows, right underneath one of the snouts on the corn head. This way it is free and clear and won't get caught. The seed gets dispersed when the head is down and before any of the residue gets thrown down from the back of the combine. The residue therefore blankets the seed like a straw mat and keeps in the moisture to stimulate growth. The corn head seeder fits 6, 8 and 10 row corn heads.
